We’re proud to announce that Invest International is supporting the project with a R550 million (€27.5 million) grant through the DRIVE programme, implemented on behalf of the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands. This project brings together the Infrastructure Fund, the City of Johannesburg, and private-sector partners through a public-private partnership model. ♻️ The impact: Transforming waste into clean energy Each year, the project will divert 500,000 tonnes of waste from landfills — about 31% of Johannesburg’s annual waste — and convert residual waste into 28 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 60,000 households. It will also enable the recovery and recycling of 175,000 tonnes of waste annually, extending landfill lifespan and reducing methane emissions.
Congrats team! Nice transaction
