It was an honor and a privilege to be invited by #MEF to Rome to share our thoughts and pragmatic approach to battling all types of mobile fraud, restoring #trustinmessaging, and protecting our enterprise clients and consumers. We can't do it alone. Greater industry collaboration such as this Exchange are important but not enough to tackle the problem. New technologies which did not exist just a few years ago should be embraced but the industry has been characteristically slow to adopt. These can prevent artificial traffic, ensure that a bank sending messages to its customers is actually the bank and not an impostor, protect those messages in transit from bypass and interception, and ensure that the terminating firewall has the necessary intelligence to block out the bad, but still forward only the legitimate traffic. It's not easy, but has to be done as this is the inflection point. While AI can help us identify traffic anomalies, it can also be turned against us. You can be assured that as long as there is big money to be made in the disparity between the costs for P2P and the ridiculous inflation of enterprise communications, that the fraudsters, hackers, and criminals will be adopting and adapting AI agents for nefarious purposes. In providing the infrastructure and systems for crimes to be committed, we are unsuspecting accessories to the crimes. At #CapacityEurope2025 yesterday I participated in a fireside chat (not sure which side the fire was...)on "Fighting fraud to protect customers" with some other smart people, Petr K. Alex Duncan, Kristian Järnefelt and Eva Jimenez We identified that some fraud comes from self-inflicted wounds and some are external viruses carried by bad players into our ecosystem. . While we didn't agree on all the issues that we covered, such as on whom resides the ultimate responsibility to protect consumers, we were in consensus that that despite conflicting business agendas and personal agendas, the issue must be addressed by industry collaboration. I'm a dreamer and an optimist so I believe that it can happen. Question is will it be in time? Or will it be as Petr K. said on the panel yesterday, something that we will still be bemoaning about 20 years from now? #businessmessaging #messagewhiz #mmdsmart #cpaas
MEF EXECUTIVE EXCHANGE Thank you to all the C-level leaders who made this day truly special! What an incredible day! An exclusive event for C-level executives, filled with authentic connections, insightful discussions, and inspiring moments. Between a padel tournament, working session, networking aperitif, and dinner, we created a unique space to exchange ideas, share experiences, and take action together. At the heart of this initiative are people, connection, and collaboration, but above all, a shared purpose.
