A 3D mouse can significantly transform the way you work with CAD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) software by enhancing navigation, precision, and workflow efficiency. Unlike a traditional mouse, a 3D mouse allows six degrees of freedom, letting you pan, zoom, and rotate models simultaneously with fluid motion. This makes exploring complex 3D designs faster and more intuitive, reducing the repetitive strain caused by keyboard shortcuts and conventional mouse movements. Designers can interact directly with 3D models, inspect details from multiple angles, and make adjustments in real-time, which improves accuracy and saves time. Additionally, a 3D mouse streamlines workflows in software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit by integrating programmable buttons for frequently used commands. For professionals in architecture, engineering, or product design, it increases productivity, enhances ergonomics, and provides a more natural, immersive experience when manipulating 3D models. Rivet vs NX cad. (No... please stop looking at me like that😄😄😄. I am not mad.) The other day, I got a surprising call. Mr. XX asked me: “Can you give me part costing the moment a designer creates a 3D CAD model?” I paused, smiled, and said: “Not really.”He went on to explain: “But Revit (a BIM tool) can estimate building cost as soon as a floor plan is drawn!”That moment left me speechless. Comparing a skyscraper plan with a mechanical part? That’s like comparing a dosa with a gearbox—delicious, but not the same! Here’s why part costing isn’t instant in mechanical design. * Unlike a building, a part’s cost depends on material selection, manufacturing process, tolerances, treatments, and volumes. * A simple CAD model doesn’t know yet if the part will be machined, cast, stamped, or 3D printed. * Add supplier capability, market rates, and logistics—and suddenly “instant costing” becomes less like Revit magic, more like solving a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded. So yes, BIM can predict when the cement and steel bill is coming. But for mechanical parts, the bill only becomes clear once design meets manufacturing reality.Until then—no, my CAD doesn’t come with an ATM attached! These are intelligent people who talk about technology and technology roadmaps and you can't explain about their stupidity because of their position. Well, I am not pulling anything like TcPCM / Apriori. They come with a process too. #plm #nx #rivet #costing.

𝟐𝐃 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟑𝐃 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 Many companies still work with separate systems. This often leads to inconsistent data, duplicate work, and hidden sources of error. With an integrated 2D/3D CAD system, these problems disappear. Changes made in 3D are automatically reflected in the 2D drawings, and any inconsistencies become immediately visible. This streamlined approach saves time, simplifies workflows, and allows customer requests to be implemented more flexibly. Potential errors are detected earlier — avoiding costly rework and improving overall project reliability. The result is a more efficient, consistent, and cost-effective design process.
