Five years ago this week: Felix & Paul Studios launched their first cameras to the International Space Station on Northrop Grumman's 14th commercial resupply services mission for NASA. Through this ISS National Lab-sponsored investigation, high-resolution cameras captured life onboard (and outside of) the station. The result? The ISS Experience, an Emmy-winning and Webby-honored series. In addition, a VR experience utilizing the footage travels to major cities, giving viewers an immersive, awe-inspiring look at the wonders of science in space and how astronauts live and work in low Earth orbit. 2025 Hackathon NASA Space APPs successfully completed! In celebration of NASA’s 25th anniversary, we created AstraGate — a scrolling narrative website that guides the user, explaining the importance of the International Space Station (ISS) and leading them into two immersive experiences: A 2D simulation game that recreates the Neutral Buoyancy Lab (NBL) astronaut training, and a 3D augmented reality journey that uses your phone’s camera to let you see planet Earth and outer space through the Cupola — the ISS’s panoramic window — in real time, making you feel like a true astronaut. This immersive portal awakens scientific and astronomical curiosity, bringing people closer to a reality lived by few — yet essential to remind us of the importance of understanding, observing, and protecting our planet. Three days of intense work with an incredibly talented team — Henrique De Almeida Negri, Victor hugo Lima de almeida, Leonay Almeida, Gabriel Azevedo, Antonio Carvalho and mentored by Gustavo Soatto You’re just one click away from experiencing what it feels like to be an astronaut: https://lnkd.in/d58f-xdJ #NASA #SpaceApps #Hackathon

The next content revolution might not come from Hollywood. It might come from 𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭. A new wave of companies is experimenting with media production in space: - Content filmed aboard the ISS - Entertainment modules designed for orbit - Earth imagery used in branding and immersive storytelling Space is becoming more than a background: it's the 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞. 💡 And so what? Well, when stories are told from space, space becomes part of our 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. It drives demand for new in‑orbit services, attracts attention from outside the traditional space ecosystem, and brings the space economy into everyday screens (and conversations). At Fondazione E. Amaldi, we love tracking how terrestrial sectors converge with space. Media might just be the next unexpected ally in shaping the future of New Space? 📅 Follow #BizBites every Thursday to explore how space meets the real world—one surprising link at a time.
