Ok, so today is the OCA, the Odoo Community Association contribution Tuesday and it's Helpdesk o'clock ⏱️ For some of Odoo users the Helpdesk app is something associated solely with Odoo Enterprise. Meanwhile there is an open source alternative from the OCA, the Odoo Community Association: https://lnkd.in/eF6kVbyU And although it may seem that the basic functionality of the Odoo EE helpdesk is much superior of those the OCA one, the core advantage of the OCA solution is that it's open-source and thus new features can be added easily not constrained by commercial license. For example here is a small but useful module contributed by Cetmix that allows to pre-configure ticket body based on the selected category: https://lnkd.in/ec7P3K7F And remember, this is OCA, the Odoo Community Association, which means that if you need some feature you can contribute it yourself 😏
This is a fantastic post highlighting the power and flexibility of the OCA's open-source Helpdesk module! It's true that many Odoo users might default to the Enterprise version, but the ability to customize and extend functionality without commercial license constraints is a huge advantage for the OCA alternative.
Many overlook the flexibility open-source brings, not just in cost, but in continuous innovation.
