Absolutely! As a single Mom, my first jobs led to my career to support my daughter. It was rewarding and I learned so much from my mentors in corporate. But...after getting my Masters at age 50, my sister passed from breast cancer at age 51. I could not go back to corporate!! I needed to find something 'meaningful' to me and my world. I found a position first with Hospice, and then with the American Cancer Society (at half the pay)...a true calling! Everyone said how can you do this work? My response, I have been called to do it.
