"Startup Dad: Why we released on a Friday"

🚨 Proud "Startup Dad" Post 🚨 Today we launched a second software update this week. Unlike the release a few days ago, today's release contained no new features. Why is this important? 🤔 First, it's a Friday release. I've seen the 🌶️ spicy posts and hot takes saying vendors shouldn't push code to Prod on a Friday. Guess what? When you have good CI/CD and automated ⚒️ tests in place, you can push changes any time with minimal risk. #Automation Second, this release was purely performance optimizations. Why is this important? I subscribe to the Don Knuth philosophy that premature optimization is the root of all evil. Over the past year, Blacksmith InfoSec's user base has grown rapidly. As a result, we started seeing some latency and performance issues that we weren't happy with. #ContinuousMonitoring Third, none of our users complained about the latency or performance, but we made the change anyhow because these metrics were below our standards. 👌 #NeverSatisfied What's your take on Friday releases?

Keep over-delivering, I love that! My initial concerns regarding a Friday push arise from the idea that, if something goes wrong, the necessary internal resources may not be as readily available as during standard hours, making timely resolution more difficult.
