To-Do List or Time Blocking Which method is the most effective for completing tasks? Both provide systems to boost productivity, but is one clearly better, or can they be combined for improved results? I’ve always thought that making a list and beginning the work is the way to go. Tackle the difficult tasks first! Eat the frog! I listened to an episode of @HubermanLab with Cal Newport (March 11, 2024), where they discussed To-Do Lists and Time Blocking, among other things. It made me consider that there might be a better way and that both methods have their advantages. Which do you find more effective: creating lists or using time blocks? #todolist #timeblocking #eatthefrog

I use both. One makes me feel better about myself (lists) the other helps me protect my time (blocking). But for me the keys are being intentional and knowing what time of day suits my mindset for particular tasks.

I use them both in a variant of David Allen’s Getting Things Done approach—>A task list to catalog all my action items and projects, reviewed weekly at a minimum to determine dedicated time blocks.
