✨ It’s hard to believe it’s already been two months since our recent graduates joined the RevOdyssey team! We checked in to hear their reflections on what they’ve learned so far about consulting and HubSpot. Their takeaways are a great reminder that sometimes, the basics matter most. In consulting, it’s easy to think our role is about building, configuring, and implementing. But with HubSpot, it’s not about just setting up a CRM and leaving, it’s about creating a platform that works hand-in- hand with a client’s growth strategy. It's about noticing processes that may work now, but could become an issue with scale. Want to learn how to use Custom Code Actions in HubSpot? But have 0 knowledge of how to code? Then this is for you! When they launched, I thought Custom Code Actions were amazing. Like, you could write your own code and have HubSpot basically do *anything* in a workflow! The annoying part: I didn't know anything about how to write code. Sure, I had dabbled a bit in HTML/CSS, and I could kind of understand some of the terms and things happening in a block of JS, but don't ask me to write it! My first CCAs were written by a developer partner of the agency I worked at. 20+ hours including project management, briefing, etc. etc., for a simple Record Association action. I remember contemplating going all-in on a Javascript course at Codecademy or similar just to learn to be able to do this. But then ChatGPT and its contemporaries came around! I still won't say I'm a developer, not by a long shot. But with the right mental models and instructions for GPT to write them, I now make CCAs in a blink.
