Reality TV and pizza. For the newest episode of Brand New World, I got a bit of both. Recorded during Fast Company's Innovation festival last month, first I have a chat with Tom Gozney, founder of pizza oven brand Gozney, and then a main stage sit-down with Bozoma Saint John about her new advertising-based reality show on NBC with Jimmy Fallon called "On Brand." This is what I love about this job – bouncing between a fascinating start-up founder in the world of pizza, and a former CMO of Netflix and Uber – and star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – now leading a network reality show that is making real ad work for real brands. Tom and I talked a lot about the role of content in his brand strategy, and how that, and his impressive network of brand ambassadors, have been instrumental in his company's growth. Boz was Boz. On a pretty hectic morning, as Fallon dropped off the bill to deal with the fallout of ABC suspending Jimmy Kimmel and Trump calling for his head next, she stepped up and got into why she thinks advertising work is ready for its prime time moment.
