Every relocation shows a story, and there are two sides of that coin. One from the person planning and listening, and the other from the one experiencing it. Beyond the paperwork and policies is care, and that is where the true difference is made. Is it time to reimagine what care in global mobility really looks like? 🔗 www.jimble.nl #TheRelocationReset #MobilityByJimble #GlobalMobility #TalentMobility #HRLeadership #EmployeeExperience #JimbleRelocation #InternationalRelocation #MobilityStrategy #PeopleFirst

European Mobility Week is a timely reminder that mobility isn’t just about transport — it’s about how people can access, thrive and contribute at work. As HR leaders we can champion mobility through practical, rights‑based action: - Remove barriers to getting here. Offer flexible start/finish windows, subsidised or tailored travel support, and accessible parking or drop‑off options so colleagues can reliably attend shifts and appointments. - Embed reasonable adjustments as standard practice. Make the adjustments process visible, fast and stigma‑free. Normalise temporary and permanent adjustments — from ergonomic equipment to altered duties or hybrid working — as first‑line responses. - Design roles around capability, not assumption. Job design that focuses on core outcomes allows people to contribute in ways that suit their mobility needs while preserving service quality. - Coordinate with Estates and Operations. Work with Property teams to prioritise ramps, automatic doors, clear wayfinding and accessible rest spaces; align HR policies with site improvements. - Measure impact and celebrate wins. Track uptake of adjustments, retention and attendance improvements, and share stories of successful return‑to‑work journeys to shift culture. Positive outcome in one sentence When mobility is treated as an inclusion imperative, we increase retention, reduce avoidable absence, and build workplaces that reflect the dignity and potential of every colleague. Call to action This week, run a short audit: ask one team member about a mobility barrier they face, agree one small adjustment, and share that change publicly to encourage others to ask for support. #EuropeanMobilityWeek #ReasonableAdjustments #InclusiveHR #WorkplaceAccessibility #HRandEstates

Untapped resources: the value of accompanying partners in global mobility As organisations strive to achieve ever greater competitiveness, they may seek to reduce the cost of global mobility. Unaccompanied assignments are less expensive than when individuals take family members with them, Hence, there is trend towards an increasing focus on the use of assignment types that are typically undertaken solo (such as short-term assignments and frequent flier style mobility). However, when individuals are sent to work abroad by themselves, this can prove to be a lonely and socially difficult experience. This can result in reduced productivity, lowering the return on investment from the assignment. Accompanying partners can make a huge difference to the wellbeing of assignees. https://lnkd.in/dNXaWHFu

🌍 Untapped Resources in Global Mobility 🌍 Too often, global mobility strategies overlook a critical success factor: accompanying partners. In her latest article, Dr. Susan Shortland makes a powerful case for rethinking how we support spouses and family members during international assignments. While unaccompanied moves might seem cost-effective, the long-term consequences — stress, loneliness, reduced productivity — can undermine the entire assignment. But there’s a flip side: when organisations support accompanying partners, everyone benefits. From improved wellbeing to economic and community contributions, partners bring real value — socially, emotionally, and financially. Read the full article on our website and explore the untapped value of accompanying partners in global mobility. https://lnkd.in/eJ3Hxqsu #GlobalMobility #DEI #EmployeeWellbeing #TalentManagement #ExpatLife #HRStrategy #InternationalAssignments

CERC Conference Deep Dive - Finding Calm in Mobility’s Chaos through Story, Perspective, and Connection As the ‘stealth industry’ that enables critical global talent flows, global mobility remains resilient by fostering human connection and staying curious, even during chaos and market disruptions. Todd Hirsch’s opening keynote at the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC) Conference offered powerful wisdom on how we can find calm amidst this chaos with three key takeaways; 1) Know Your Story: Who you are matters. Hirsch shared the Domino’s case study - facing near bankruptcy, they realized they didn’t just sell pizza, but convenience. By embracing their true mission and innovating boldly with technology, they became market leaders. For mobility teams, being able to clearly articulate your company’s story and purpose anchors decision-making and inspires confidence in uncertain times. 2) Shift Perspective: Just as wallpaper cleaner transformed into Play-Doh, when viewed differently, challenges in mobility often hide new opportunities. Whether that’s rethinking talent mobility amidst demographic shifts or adapting to emerging immigration complexities, fresh perspectives create innovation. 3) Prioritize Human Connection: Hirsch highlighted that economics ultimately boils down to human connection where a market is created when one person has what another needs. In an increasingly automated and remote world, genuine connection is a rare and valuable commodity. Mobility professionals can differentiate by fostering empathy and strong relationships with employees and stakeholders amidst change. Amid economic shifts, political complexities causing immigration upheaval, and climate pressures driving up insurance, anchoring work in clear purpose, creative problem-solving, and authentic human connection remains the best path to calm and success in global mobility. #GlobalMobility, #TalentMobility, #EmployeeRelocation, #MobilityInnovation, #HumanConnection, #MobilityStrategy, #SustainabilityInMobility, #FutureOfWork, #MobilityTechnology, #SproutGlobal Alisa Porter, Jennifer Browne, Renee Bissonnette, CRP

At BTR, we believe global mobility should feel less like a policy and more like a partnership. Our latest blog explores how organisations can evolve their relocation strategies to reflect Gen Z’s values—with tailored solutions, empathetic support, and a team that understands what’s at stake.
