Meta and Oracle are enhancing their AI data centres by integrating NVIDIA's Spectrum-X Ethernet networking switches, which are designed to meet the demands of large-scale AI systems. Spectrum-X will facilitate more efficient AI training and deployment across extensive compute clusters. Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO, described these data centres as "giga-scale AI factories," with Spectrum-X serving as the critical connection for millions of GPUs. Oracle plans to utilize Spectrum-X with its Vera Rubin architecture to improve GPU connectivity, while Meta will incorporate it into its Facebook Open Switching System (FBOSS) for better network management.
