I was gonna ask what's your, uh, what's your favorite animal Because I see a lot of giraffe. Giraffe was right up there. Yes, and, and you will definitely see that adorned in the office. They are super long. That was a little off putting, but but it was nevertheless fun and and they're very docile, although I know they could be dangerous. They're docile creatures. It was just it was really good. Hi, my name is Tis Jones and I am the Johnson County GIS Director. Well, we are a mapping department and we map all kinds of data. We work with a variety of different departments and planning Public Utilities 911 and the list just goes on. We don't only just map, we actually edit and maintain. Hundreds of data sets of all kinds of data. All of our clientele is just a hodgepodge, if you will, of of different people who are using maps and the data in different perspectives. I think the the most common misconception would probably be that people often think that we are just predominantly A parcel tax mapping department and we still do that. But boy, over the last 30 years we have grown so exponentially. We also edit layers called critical layers and these are your fire, your law, your EMS districts. City limit layers and on these layers, we have to send these to 911. They upload all of this data for purposes of dispatch. And we have to maintain a zero critical error when we're editing this because we look at it as potential life and death situations dependent on the quality of our data. We want to be sure that the fire truck and the EMS vehicle and law enforcement is not only going to get to the right location, but to get there with efficiency. I think a fun fact for us is that we have actually had some of our maps published in a book, and that's pretty cool. And it was written by Thomas and Winget Lassiter. So some of our maps that we created here that our staff members have done got published in that book. I wouldn't say there's one particular thing first. I'd have to say it's extremely rewarding to me to have the staff that I have and it's a privilege every day to come in and and get to work with them. One of the most rewarding things is working with our youth. We had our youngest GIS enthusiasts come visit our office and he took a tour on our hallway of mats and learned all about GIS. And last week when he started kindergarten, his mom shared a photo of us and in the bottom right hand corner he says, I want to be a GIS professional. And that is very rewarding.
