The panel on 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 is in full swing! Moderator Leila Sadiq of Bloomberg is joined by Domenico Lia of King Street Capital Management, Luke Mason of Neuberger Berman, and Kerill O'Shaughnessy of A&L Goodbody LLP to explore a structural shift in the industry. The panel is discussing how private markets, once exclusive to institutional investors, are now becoming more accessible to a wider audience through new regulated pathways. The conversation is diving deep into the practicalities and trade-offs of this evolution. Panellists are exploring how new fund vehicles like ELTIFs and LTAFs are addressing the challenge of illiquidity by providing periodic liquidity windows, and the importance of investor education in these semi-liquid structures. They are also examining how private assets are moving from a niche allocation to an important part of portfolios, as well as the need for transparent valuation methods and robust investor protection. The discussion is highlighting how the industry is balancing innovation with integrity to bring these opportunities to a broader audience in a responsible, sustainable way. #KeplerAlternativesSummit2025 This post is for professional and institutional investors only. At Ninety One, we are focused on being the active investment manager of the future - and we look ahead with great optimism. Our CEO, Hendrik du Toit, joined a lively panel of industry leaders at the Financial Times Future of Asset Management North America Conference to share perspectives on how traditional asset managers can evolve and thrive in a rapidly changing world. Just as global themes shape investment opportunities, they are also transforming the asset management industry itself. From the rise of decentralized finance and hyper-personalized investing to the growing influence of AI-augmented decision-making, the discussion explored how innovation is redefining the future of investing. Hendrik shared three key messages that resonated with the audience: 1. AI presents an exciting opportunity for asset managers to create an edge — to do more, better, and faster. 2. Private and public markets are necessary parts of the investment ecosystem. Both can contribute meaningfully to society and end investors. At this stage the market is underappreciating the importance of liquidity. 3. ETFs are growing in popularity, but outside the US where there is no tax advantage, it is simply a convenient wrapper and not an investment. What matters is the investment inside and that is the focus of Ninety One. #FTFOAM #AssetManagement #ActiveInvesting

We're very pleased to have contributed to the Q3 2025 edition of the AIMA Journal, published by AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association. With the benefit of his experience in both public and private credit, our CIO, Kunal Shah, argues that the lines between these markets are blurring, with syndicated and non-syndicated markets behaving similarly in a structurally higher cost of funding environment. Despite growing awareness, nature remains a hard sell for investors. As political rhetoric around ESG cools, some investment firms are trying to position natural assets, from forests to oceans, as a credible investment theme, Lydia Linna heard as she attended the #ALFIPAC25 conference in Luxembourg for #InvestmentOfficer. But convincing investors that nature is not just good for the planet, but also for returns, still takes work. She spoke to Martin Berg, CEO of Climate Asset Management, a joint venture between HSBC Global Asset Management and advisory firm Pollination, and heard from Niki Natarajan, head of research at Phenix Capital Group, Chris Gorell Barnes, founding partner at Ocean 14 Capital , and Kris Atkinson, portfolio manager at Fidelity International.
