Someone I was talking to recently works in a research lab. When I asked them to walk me through their day, they said: “I just run mouse experiments.” But as we dug deeper, what came out was this: 🔹 They break down a complex problem into digestible chunks and then decide which hypotheses are worth testing (structured thinking) 🔹 They juggle resources - tools, people, time - to make it happen (project management) 🔹 They synthesize complex results into clear takeaways getting at the “so what” (structured thinking) 🔹 They keep their PIs and peers aligned along the way (stakeholder management) Sounds a lot like consulting or even product work, right?
