What a week. The future is bright! It started with an invite to an inspiring morning at Beeston Tower IHG Hotels & Resorts. The Manchester Business Sounding Board had an incredible group of speakers who all shared their stories on making Manchester a better place to live for everyone. Chris Oglesby, CEO of Bruntwood and Chair of the sounding board spoke about hope. How Manchester has the fastest productive growth in the UK and the importance of ensuring that prosperity is shared fairly across our communities. Bev Craig talked about creating opportunities, tackling inequality and giving every Mancunian the best start in life. Her vision of partnership between politicians, business, education and local communities really resonated with me. A big shout out to Lisa Morton for the invite. If you haven’t already, check out Lisa’s latest podcast “We Built this City”, The Manc Building a United Vision, with the fabulous Collette Roche COO at Manchester United! That positivity carried right through the week at TrunkBBI. We picked up five awards at the Global Digital Excellence awards 2025, including being crowned Best Integrated Agency. This is a huge achievement and a testament to the team’s talent and hard work. 2026 is going to be a great year! I personally can’t wait to see where Matt’s expertise takes us next. 👉 Read more about his appointment in our latest blog post! https://lnkd.in/ek36xX-h On a personal note, it’s been amazing to see my son Harry Butler stepping into the business, showing a genuine love for the industry and bringing a fresh perspective, as you can see from his recent post about Gen Z and their view of marketing. http://bit.ly/3KTqbIW And finally, a big shoutout to Christopher Maguire for the mention in his post. Chris always brings the feel-good vibes, and I’m definitely taking those into my weekend. It’s been a week full of pride, positivity and purpose. When there is so much bad news being pedalled its good to hear the positives. Here is to now, next week and beyond!
