This pivotal 2023 publication by Vinay Kumar et al demonstrated that the declining temperature profile across the Stratosphere over the 40 plus years is negatively correlated and anti-phase with increasing Galactic Cosmic Radiation (GCR) intensity. Remember that GCR intensity is modulated by the Sun's magnetic field (aka heliosphere). Higher (lower) GCR means weaker (stronger) heliosphere. This in itself, does not provide information of the mechanism by which Stratospheric temperatures change in response to the Sun's heliospheric strength, but it does highlight the lack of merit of the popular claim that human use of hydrocarbons is singularly causative of these measured changes over the past 40 years. Interesting. Well since I have been following the climate debate (1986) what has become apparent is that the mechanisms affecting climate are very complex and quite possibly remain largely unknown to us.
A question which is not exactly related to this post. Could stratosphere influence troposhere ? I never read anything on the topic, as it seems obvious there are no connection. In physics, this should be treated as a boundary condition, and we know BC have a major impact on the solution.
Aside from heliosphere and weather, do any peers think volcano activity modulates with Sun activity? Anyone know of any climate model stakeholders trying modeling that feedback loop, to weather?
It also is some big words for the politicians in power to say or understand. This will also make it hard for them to tax people on it. What a travesty.
