Why Honest Data Conversations Matter Most data problems don’t start in systems they start in the conversations we don’t have. We talk about platforms, pipelines, and policies…but not about trust. What happens when teams doubt the numbers? When data tells a story we don’t like? When politics beats insight? Honest data conversations are where real change begins. It’s where we admit: ➡️ Quality isn’t perfect. ➡️ Definitions differ. ➡️ Maturity takes time. And that’s okay — because once we talk about it, we can fix it. When those questions are welcome, data stops being a compliance chore and becomes what it should be: a shared language for progress. Here’s to more honest, human data conversations. Because trust doesn’t come from tech. It comes from talking. #DataGovernance #DataCulture #TrustInData #Leadership #DataStrategy #DigitalTransformation #DatabyKaz

Great insight!
Agreed 👍
I absolutely agree. Creating a safe space to openly discuss data quality and trust issues is the foundation for building confidence in the data. When teams can be honest about what’s not working and collaborate on a plan to fix it, data becomes reliable and actionable. You’ve always been great at fostering that kind of open, trust-based environment. 👏
Great post. Data is a business function being held hostage by an outdated IT mentality.
I couldn't agree more Karen. Another great reminder that progress doesn't start with Platforms, Policies or Pipelines..... It's People and honest conversations. Hope you're well :)

1wQuite right and well said. There are always excellent conversations to be had when issues arise and when you dig into peoples perspectives on particular issues you see how many of them come about, bring those together and understand and you´ll have much more success when managing or trying to fix issues in the data.
