St Paul’s Cathedral has unveiled new plaques honouring two distinguished King’s figures: 🟡 Alum Kofoworola Abeni Pratt (Nursing, 1950) 🟡 Former Professor of Analytical Pharmacology, Sir James Black Kofoworola was one of the first Black nurses in the NHS. After training at the Nightingale School at St Thomas’ Hospital, she returned to Nigeria. There, she became the country’s Chief Nursing Officer and Commissioner of Health for Lagos State. Sir James Black was a Nobel Prize-winning pharmacologist. He developed groundbreaking treatments for angina, hypertension and stomach ulcers.
