So you and women estimates that 2.5 billion women and girls are living under discriminatory laws and that if we continue at the current piece of reform, we'll take almost 300 years to get rid of discriminatory laws. We definitely don't want our great, great, great, great, great grandchildren, you know, suffering from the same discrimination, but they might be now. For 32 years we have used our expertise and our knowledge of legal reform to bring others into the room, Working in coalition, working across countries, working across differences, also working with parliamentarians and those who shape policy. We're dealing with issues around rape, around child marriage, around female genital mutilation, sexual exploitation. We work to change the laws because we know that without a law you can't even try to access justice and changing the law. This is the first step towards survivors being able to get accountability for what happened to them. Economic justice is about laws. It's also about lived equality. Economic independence is really like a foundational requirement to get your basic needs met. When a survivor has access to economic independence, they will be empowered to potentially leave their abuser. As an international human rights organization, we're really privileged and proud to be working with local organizations around the world pretty much in every region. A change in the law in one country in a particular region can definitely inspire other countries in the regions which may have similar legal frameworks or systems. So every human being, girl, boy, child, adolescent has the opportunity to thrive and has the opportunity to really sit in their highest power.
