I am pleased to announce our latest work entitled "Effective Flows Across Diffusio-Phoretic Membranes" was published in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics. In this study, we develop a macroscopic boundary condition to model effective flows across microstructured diffusio-phoretic membranes. By upscaling microscale chemical interactions, we derive contributions that augment classical permeability and diffusivity formulations. Our model is applied to design minimal phoretic pumps, demonstrating its utility in guiding optimization and engineering of microfluidic systems. This open-access article is available here: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eV7z8Ztm I am grateful to Giuseppe Antonio Zampogna, Pier Giuseppe Ledda, Edoardo Carlo Giordano and François Gallaire for their help in developing this model.

Congrats Kevin! Is membrane surface charge included in the phoretic effect?
