Google has introduced a new feature for its AI command-line tool that lets people add small plug-ins made by other developers. These plug-ins, called extensions, allow the tool to do more things by connecting it to different services. For example, some of the first extensions let users create images or connect with tools like Figma and Stripe directly from the same AI assistant. What makes this launch interesting is that Google isn’t tightly controlling who can create these extensions. Anyone can build one and share it through a public GitHub link without waiting for Google’s approval. This creates an open environment where the tool can grow quickly with the help of the developer community. Google says over a million developers are already using this tool. By allowing extensions, Google wants to turn it into a flexible hub that can work with many other platforms instead of being a standalone product. In simple terms, Google is opening the door for others to expand what its AI tool can do, hoping to make it more useful, customizable, and widely adopted. “Google just dropped something wild — Opal 👀” I’ve been poking around Opal — Google’s new experimental “vibe coding / AI mini-app builder” — and I think it might change how we build simple AI tools. What makes it interesting: -> You can describe a workflow in plain language, and Opal turns it into a visual app (no code required). Google Developers Blog -> It chains together prompts, model calls, and tools behind the scenes. Google Developers Blog -> It’s still beta / experimental, but I see it being great for quick prototypes, automating small tasks, or validating ideas fast. Here’s a demo video so you can see it in action: If this works smoothly, imagine building your own little helper apps without needing to code. But I’m cautiously optimistic — usability, stability, and flexibility will make or break it. What do you think — is Opal legit real for everyday creators, or just another experiment? #AI #GenerativeAI #NoCode #VibeCoding #GoogleLabs #Innovation

🚀 Google Opal — The Next Generation of No-Code AI Builders Google has unveiled Opal, an experimental AI tool that lets you build mini-apps just by describing them in natural language. No coding, no drag-and-drop — just conversation. 💬 🔥 Why it stands out: Uses AI + visual workflows for app creation Apps can be edited by text or through a visual editor Share instantly via your Google account Currently in public beta (US) via Google Labs ⚡ How it compares to existing no-code tools: Unlike Bubble, Glide, or Webflow, which rely on manual design and logic setup, Opal auto-generates logic, flow, and UI using AI. Ideal for prototyping, internal tools, and quick app ideas, not yet full-scale production apps. 💡 It’s another step toward a world where you describe the product — AI builds it. #GoogleOpal #NoCode #AIApps #GoogleLabs #AIDrivenDevelopment #Automation #Productivity #Innovation #TechTrends #AITransformation

🔷 Google's integration of AI into its core applications continues with the accidental revelation of a "Help me write" feature within the Android version of Google Docs. This development signifies a strategic move to extend Gemini-powered writing assistance beyond web browsers to mobile platforms, enhancing productivity for professionals on the go. While currently non-functional, its appearance through an APK teardown confirms active progress in bringing sophisticated AI tools to mobile users. This move underscores Google's commitment to embed generative AI across its ecosystem, offering users optional but powerful aids for content creation. Businesses relying on Google Workspace for collaboration and documentation can anticipate improved efficiency and streamlined workflows as these AI capabilities mature on mobile. The "Help me write" tool, originally part of Duet AI, evolving to Gemini, highlights the continuous innovation in Google's AI offerings and their potential to redefine mobile productivity. #GoogleAI, #GoogleDocs, #Android, #GenerativeAI

🚀 Meet Opal by Google: your AI-powered no-code mini-app builder: Two months ago, Google introduced Opal, an experimental tool from Google Labs that allows users to build, customise, and share AI-driven mini apps, all with natural language + visual workflows, no coding required. Opal is entering a new phase: expansion to 15 more countries, including India, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, and beyond, putting powerful AI app creation in the hands of even more creators around the world. What makes Opal stand out • 🧩 Workflow-first design — Opal conceptualises your idea as a chain of prompts, AI models, and tools. Describe logic in plain English, and Opal translates it into a visual workflow you can tweak or remix. • 🛠️ Edit freely, no code needed — You can adjust steps, insert new logic, or correct behaviour either via the visual editor or the behind-the-scenes console. • 🐞 Smarter debugging — Errors are surfaced in real time at the exact step where they occur, making issue resolution easier and faster. • ⚡ Faster, parallel execution — Core performance upgrades allow multiple workflow steps to run in parallel. App creation times have also been slashed. 🧠 Why it matters: Opal is more than a no-code builder; it’s a new creative layer on top of AI. It lets anyone, from designers to entrepreneurs, build something useful, share it, and even remix others’ apps, all without touching a line of code. Google calls it “AI-first creation for everyone.” And honestly? That’s exactly what the world needs right now. #GoogleOpal #NoCode #AI #GoogleLabs #Innovation #AppBuilder #AIForEveryone #Productivity #GenerativeAI #AIAgent #AI

When I first saw someone build a working AI application in 10 minutes using just plain English, I had to pause and reread that. No code. No tutorials. Just describing what you want. Google's new experimental tool Opal lets you create AI mini-apps by typing what you need in regular words. You literally tell it "make me an app that turns meeting notes into action items" and boom, it builds the whole thing visually. What got me thinking was this: Google is letting subject-matter experts, not just IT departments, build their own AI tools. The marketing manager who needs a content analyzer. The teacher creating custom quiz generators. The small business owner automating customer responses. Sure, it's US-only for now and still experimental. Google's being strategic here, testing the waters while gathering data on how non-developers think about app creation. But here's what matters: this democratizes AI development completely. No API keys, no technical setup, no coding bootcamp needed. The gap between "I wish I had an app that..." and actually having that app just collapsed to about 10 minutes. What would you build if technical skills weren't the barrier anymore? here's the link : https://lnkd.in/gYBdMz8k #GoogleOpal #GenAI #AIEngineering #DemocratizingAI #GoogleOpal #AITools #FutureOfWork
