Completely aligned with this perspective. Genuine leaders do more than manage tasks, they cultivate trust, psychological safety and a strong sense of advocacy within their teams. When managers stand by, support and empower their people, they naturally inspire higher performance and deeper loyalty. True leadership is not about authority, it is about the confidence and resilience you help others build.

Why do followers require “a protector?” This is a new age neophyte claim that is only 1/2 the story. What you create is a population of people looking to be protected, instead of courageous people, looking to serve others, and strive to be better everyday, as a person, teammate and team member. The greatest metaphor is that of a ship built for the sea. Protecting the ship built to achieve and explore, is protected best tied to the moorings, safe in the harbor. What value is that ship? The best ships, like people, should hope to be lead by a good Captain and Crew, to see things never seen, and explore the world of possibilities and all the risks that can be well-managed. If honest, who dreams of going to sea, only to spend a lifetime on the same harbor, chained to the past? This is a lie, of those who damage the mindset of others, in a an attempt to protect them everything, good and bad. Someday, everyone sees the false safety in this kind of thinking, its caustic liberal beliefs that will destroy the very heart of real Americans. Rooted in the psychology of the 1970’s and helicopter parents, we have created a weak and helpless group of people without the hope and courage to defend themselves in every situation.

Love this! Protecting your team and advocating for them builds trust and loyalty that no KPI can measure

I’d add to this: also the leaders who lift their team members up. Shielding your team is critical, and giving them proper visibility and credit goes a long way.

Absolutely agree. You are to take care of the people in your charge and not to be in charge.

The umbrella practically can protect from the outside matters, inside is more important. Protecting is good but blindly hiding the mistake of their team is stupid. Imagine the consequence!

Absolutely agree. A true leader’s job is to shield the team from distractions, politics, and detractors from success — so they can focus on performing at their best. When your people know you’ve got their back, they’ll go the extra mile every single time. Protect the team, and the team will protect the mission.

Exactly..........True leaders don’t just manage; they protect, empower, and elevate their people. When leaders stand up for their teams, they build trust that turns groups into greatness.
