After almost a decade building Uber Freight into the leading end-to-end intelligent logistics company, it is time for my next challenge: making self-driving a reality at scale. I am joining Waabi, the leader in pioneering generative AI for the physical world, as COO. This journey began a decade ago when I became convinced of the massive potential in transforming global logistics—moving the industry toward a more connected, integrated, and digital-first future. The digital epoch of logistics was just beginning, and I knew Uber was the place to build it. A decade later, thanks to the incredible Uber Freight team , we’ve built something extraordinary. Uber Freight is now the leading end-to-end intelligent logistics platform, transforming supply chains worldwide—with Uber fully committed to this space and accelerating the next phase of the journey. Building alongside this special team every day. Your grit, passion, and unwavering commitment to our customers have inspired me endlessly. I’m deeply grateful for Dara Khosrowshahi’s mentorship, partnership and trust over the past eight years -his leadership brings the best in people. I’m also excited to welcome Rebecca Tinucci as Uber Freight’s new CEO. Rebecca brings a rare combination of operational discipline, customer obsession, and the ability to scale complex global businesses. I know the team will thrive under her leadership, and I look forward to supporting her as Uber Freight’s chairman. With that in place, it’s the right time to turn my focus to the next epoch of our industry: autonomy. I believe self-driving technology will unlock the next wave of logistics transformation, optimizing physical assets and networks to deliver a safer, more efficient future. Having spent the past 20 years in AI, AV, and freight, I feel called to help build that future reality. I’ve known Raquel Urtasun for over a decade and deeply respect her as the leading innovator in the self-driving space. She is also a dear friend whose values, discipline and leadership inspire me. What she and the Waabi team have built over the last four years is unmatched: an AI-first approach to self-driving that can scale across use cases,deliver cost-efficiency, and set new standards for transparency and safety. Physical AI will transform supply chains with self-driving trucks, reshape cities with self-driving cars, and will change our lives through advanced robotics. The technology is ready - it’s time to make it a commercial reality. I couldn’t be more excited to join Waabi on this journey and partner with customers to build a safer, more predictable, and scalable future.
