Lukas Walton’s Post

Founder and CEO at Builders Vision

This week, I had the pleasure of attending Heartland Forward’s Heartland Summit in Bentonville, which convened hundreds of government, philanthropic and business leaders who are committed to fostering opportunity, education, better health outcomes and innovation in America’s middle. At the Summit, I had the pleasure of hosting a conversation with Adebayo Ogunlesi, Chairman & CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, on the emerging challenges and opportunities in the energy sector and what role the heartland can play. The conversation comes at a crucial moment, particularly for the heartland, which is rapidly becoming a key center for artificial intelligence and supercomputing. These transformative technologies promise immense growth and advancement, but the heartland, and the world writ large, faces the complex challenge of fueling this technological revolution sustainably. We must navigate the rising energy needs of data centers and high-performance computing while simultaneously transitioning to cleaner, available and affordable energy sources. And we need the public and private sectors to come together and implement solutions that protect consumers, create opportunities for communities and ensure we build a secure and resilient future. I really enjoyed my time in Bentonville and what I learned from the incredible program this year’s Heartland Summit brought to life across themes of technology, education, health and opportunity. {Heartland Forward }

Lukas Walton was great listening to your talk. We're doing lots of work at the intersection of AI x Energy at Google.org in case of interest! https://blog.google/outreach-initiatives/google-org/electrical-workers-ai-training/

The Midwest is key to our success. I’m proud to be from the heartland and proud of our role in the clean energy transition bringing jobs and clean air and water to the region.

🌾 What an inspiring gathering at the Heartland Summit! As the Heartland emerges as a hub for AI and supercomputing, water resilience must be part of the infrastructure conversation. Our atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology offers: 💧 Decentralized water solutions for data centers, reducing strain on local resources ⚡ Renewable-powered systems that align with clean energy transitions 🌱 Community-scale models to support opportunity creation and health outcomes Key takeaways from your conversation with Adebayo Ogunlesi resonate deeply: 1️⃣ Public-private collaboration: SkyH2O works with utilities, municipalities, and tech firms to implement scalable water solutions 2️⃣ Sustainable growth: AWG supports AI expansion without exacerbating water stress in agricultural regions 3️⃣ Resilient futures: Drought-proof water infrastructure for Heartland communities We’d welcome the chance to contribute to this dialogue—perhaps at next year’s Summit? The Heartland’s leadership in tech and sustainability is exactly the right place to pilot integrated energy-water solutions. #HeartlandForward #WaterSecurity #SustainableAI Builders Vision Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP)
