Red Bull Ventures 🤝 APEX It will be difficult to imagine a better announcement to mark APEX 5th anniversary. What began then as a vision and a dream between 4 friends Antonio Cacorino, Antonio Felix da Costa, Pedro Félix da Costa & Mitch Evans, has grown very quickly into an hyper mature business and a global movement that makes me incredibly proud of. Sport was then emerging as a serious investment class, and athletes were taking deeper conscience of their active role in that growth, but also on actors of a new global movement of entrepreneurship. 5 years on, APEX has built a community of 100+ athlete-investors who bring their life experiences, will of transforming sports, entrepreneurial resilience, fighting mentality, time, interest and capital to change the world of sports. Those 5 years brought investment deployment over +20 companies around the world - from early-stage ventures like ScorePlay, to emerging formats like Baller League and TMRW Sports, through to ownership positions in premium properties like the Alpine Formula One Team. We have also launched our Elite Performance Fund – a leading European fund backing early-stage ventures shaping the future of sports and have also amplify our investor base to include institutional LP's, family offices and strategic operators, to work alongside our athlete community on making the world of sports a better place. Today, we’re proud to welcome Red Bull Ventures as investor and a cornerstone LP in the final close of our Elite Performance Fund. If there’s one brand that has pushed the boundaries of sports, media and entertainment like no other, it’s Red Bull, as they build a new avenue and set new standards to build brand, performance and culture in the industry we so much love. Having Red Bull Ventures join our mission to positively impact the future of sports is exactly what we set out to do: bring the wider industry together, not just athletes, to invest in what’s next as we share a common mindset to back ideas and founders that move fast and challenge norms. Life was kind to create the opportunity for me to join this incredible movement called APEX almost 4 years ago in late 2021. I was and still am the oldest member of the family, the "grandfather" of an outstanding group of young, vibrant, fearless, determined and resilient executives that will not take no for an answer or accept the boundaries and the barriers of today's sports ecosystem. They represent the future of the industry I so much love and the hope that it will be possible on my lifetime to see this industry take the full steps to deliver its full potential. Thank you to all the APEX family, our team, athletes, partners, investors and everyone that believes, follows and shares our journey with us.
