The new Sea Level Calculator from NOAA Digital Coast in the Office for Coastal Management is easier to use than ever...complete with quick-view videos and a clean, intuitive design. Lynker is proud to have supported NOAA from content development to app design, helping bring this important resource to life. Our learning services animator produced short videos explaining each of the five quick views, and our team joined NOAA experts in webinars to share use cases and provide technical support. Check out the videos before exploring the tool: https://lnkd.in/grrHptmY #SeaLevels #NOAA #OCM #CoastalManagement #FloodFrequency #WaterLevels #TeamLynker

Exploring new ways to share GIS insights! GIS knowledge isn’t limited to static or interactive maps—videos can tell powerful spatial stories too. Using ArcGIS Pro animations, complex 2D and 3D data can be transformed into engaging visual narratives, making it easier to communicate analytical discoveries and reach wider audiences through social media. #GIS #ArcGISPro #SpatialAnalysis #DataVisualization

Introducing a more engaging way to do 360° video. 🌀 Virtual tours are a great way of bringing people into a space, especially at historic sites where some rooms aren’t accessible. But if you’re just using images, you’re missing a trick. Our 360° player adds soundscapes, voices, and characters to meet, alongside built-in maps, point of interest markers, and transcripts for accessibility. Plus, it works seamlessly in your browser – whether you’re on desktop or a mobile. Can we create something similar for your historic site?

Two weeks ago, I talked about how historic sites can start to do more than be on the bucket list. Last week, we showed you how New College in Oxford is deepening engagement. This week, we're showing you how 360 degree virtual views can dramatically increase accessibility - as well as broadening your appeal.

This blew my mind. Take a look at what Nicolas Arellano and CIMS (Carleton Immersive Media Studio) built: CDT is an open, web-based platform that lets you explore maps, BIM models and point clouds. Their mission: democratize digital twin tech and ditch the proprietary nonsense. Yes, built on top of my open-source work. Being the stepping stone of such cool work makes it all worthwhile. 💪🏻 And yes, a new major release is coming: Fragments Edit API, which will allow to build authoring tools too. This is the real magic of open-source software. A team in Spain develops a brilliant solution that perfectly fits our workflow in Canada. We integrate it with other open-source tools, adapt it, and create something new — something we hope will help others facing similar challenges. And so, the open-source chain continues 🚀 Huge thanks to That Open Company and Antonio González Viegas for providing a fundamental piece of our BIM/GIS platform. Soon, our contribution will also be open-source (by the end of fall 2025) — completing another link in this global collaboration chain. #cdt #CollabDigitalTwins #OpenSourceSoftware #openBIM #openGIS CIMS (Carleton Immersive Media Studio)

🗺️ Finalizing Map Comps in GeoLayers – The Most Time-Consuming, Yet Crucial Step Right now, I’m finalizing the map compositions for a long-form 30-minute GeoLayers project in After Effects. This stage often takes the most time, because: Every zoom, pan, and rotation must look smooth and realistic. Layer alignment and labeling need to be spot on. Even a tiny mismatch can break immersion for the viewer. Through my work with GeoLayers 3, I’ve learned that finalizing maps is less about polishing visuals and more about shaping the narrative. 🔑 Tips for Map Finalization in GeoLayers: Lock camera paths early → prevents unnecessary rework later. Use easing carefully → smooth transitions make maps feel natural. Double-check label placement → avoid overlaps that distract from key points. Preview often → small tweaks during finalization save big headaches at the render stage. It’s a slow process, but it’s also the foundation that makes a GeoLayers project stand out. Sometimes the “invisible work” behind the maps is what makes the final video unforgettable. 👉 If you’re interested in how these map projects come together, I’d love to connect and share more insights. #GeoLayers #AfterEffects #MotionGraphics #VideoEditing #CreativeProcess

✨ Important update for design systems: React Aria now includes multi-select support. In contrast, Radix development appears to have slowed, which raises the question whether React Aria should become the stronger foundation going forward. The groundwork is there for a Shadcn-style system based on React Aria — uniting design flexibility with robust accessibility. 👏 Credit to Devon Govett and the team for their continued work. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eViucfNE
