AWS US-EAST-1 is down today. Is anything working today in the world? Yes we are at projetsolaire.com running on bare metal servers from Scaleway! Sometimes its just good to keep the digital infrastructure simple and old fashioned - Get a physical server, run linux on it and run your dockerised application. Seems to work out just fine and at lower cost - no need for all this cloud overcomplexity that I dont think saves you money at the end of the day from what I have seen #inhouse #infrastructure #aws #cloud

2dThat’s a fair point… but do you think it would still be reliable long-term, even during extended power outages? I mean, cloud providers have redundancy and failover systems that bare metal setups might lack unless you build them yourself. Plus, there’s the challenge of maintaining the system and dealing with hardware issues… I guess that’s what people are really paying for in the cloud services.
