They’re not “just sketches”—they’re the backbone of UX/UI design because they: Turn abstract ideas into clear layouts Highlight user flow over fonts & colors Reveal gaps and usability issues early Align stakeholders before heavy design & coding Save time (and costs) by fixing issues early Invite feedback when things are still flexible Once that foundation is strong, I move into the final design—where aesthetics and usability come together. And here’s where Light Mode vs. Dark Mode often plays a big role: 🌞 Light Mode → clean, open, familiar, great for readability in daylight. 🌑 Dark Mode → sleek, modern, immersive, and easy on the eyes in low light. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗜/𝗨𝗫 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻, 𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝘆𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: “𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻.” I thought as long as the interface looked sleek, colorful, and modern, people would love it. So, I poured hours into picking perfect color palettes, experimenting with typography, and adding fancy layouts. Then came the reality slap. During a usability test, I watched people struggle with my design. They couldn’t find buttons. They got stuck in navigation. They abandoned the flow halfway. It was humbling. The truth hit me hard: A design isn’t successful because it looks good, it’s successful because it works. UI/UX is about users first. It’s about accessibility, flow, empathy, and solving problems. The visuals? They matter, but they come after usability. Since then, my mindset shifted: Now, every design I create starts with the user, not just the aesthetics.
