It’s a momentous occasion for mathematics and Indian diaspora today. Stanford University #DepartmentofMathematics will be unveiling a bust of #SrinivasaRamanujan at the campus. The bust is donated by Agastya International Foundation. The event is co-hosted by Indiaspora. And then there is a movie screening to honor this occasion, co-hosted by Stanford India Policy and Economics Club (SIPEC). Kudos to all involved! What a great choice and cause! I shall rewatch it too here for the love of mathematics, for my Alma mater (University of Cambridge and my countless nights at the mathematics library, The Betty & Gordon Moore library) and for the love of Ramanujan’s inspiring insights. His number plate story about 1729 is one of my favorites, as these days with my children too we try to decipher uniqueness in car license plates. Many hearty congratulations Stanford India Policy and Economics Club (SIPEC). Take a bow and enjoy the celebrations Samyukta Shrivatsa, Jatin Aggarwal, Gowri Subedar and team.
