🏆 Grammont Prize at SECEC-ESSSE! 🇪🇺 SECEC - Shoulder & Elbow Community The European Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery We are honored to announce that our study, "The resting arm position influences impingement-free range of motion and the distalization and lateralization shoulder angle in reverse shoulder arthroplasty preoperative planning," has received the Grammont Prize, the highest European distinction in shoulder arthroplasty! This achievement is the result of 3 years of collaborative work around the reverse shoulder arthroplasty with 25 French surgeons (Stryker, Medacta, Exactech), initiated by the SOFEC (French Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery), analyzing 3D planning data and multi-center radiographs. A Franco-Belgian collaboration for this specific work involving: Dr Alexander Vervaecke (Fellow of Pr Olivier Verborgt, Antwerp) and Dr Alexandre Caubère (Military Hospitals, Sainte-Anne, Toulon), brilliant surgeons we are proud to have mentored with my friend Pr Jean-David Werthel (Ambroise Paré, Paris) and my team (IULS, CHU Nice). Thank also to Dr Mikaël Chelli and all the EasyMedStat team for providing its data collection and analysis software. A nod to history 😉 : the reverse shoulder arthroplasty invented by Pr Paul Grammont remains one of the France’s major contribution to shoulder surgery in the last 50 years and this prize underscores how the Grammont legacy continues to drive and inspire innovation! Special thanks to all contributors, KOL surgeons, industry partners, and SOFEC, without whom this project would not have been possible! Congratulations to the SECEC-ESSSE organizing and scientific committees for an outstanding 2025 European Congress! #SECEC #GrammontPrize #ReverseShoulderArthroplasty #ShoulderSurgery Tjarco ALTA, Roger van Riet MD, PhD, Mario Borroni SOFEC Institut Universitaire Locomoteur et du Sport Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice (CHU de Nice) EasyMedStat Pr Matthias Zumstein (Zurich / Berne), Dr Alexandre Laedermann (Meyrin, Genève), Dr Gilles Walch (Lyon), Pr Julien Berhouet (CHU de Tours), Pr Jean-François Gonzalez (CHU de Nice), Pr Bertrand Coulet (CHU de Montpellier), Dr Adrien JACQUOT (Nancy), Dr Michel Azar (Nice), Dr Regis Guinand (Toulouse), Dr Eric Petroff (Dunkerque), Dr Pierre-Henri Flurin (Bordeaux Mérignac), Dr Camille Charvet (Grenoble), Dr Jean-christian BALESTRO (Bourges), Dr Vladimir Rotari (Amiens), Dr Yann Marczuk (Limoges), Dr Anselme Billaud (Bordeaux Mérignac), Dr Philippe Collotte (Lyon), Dr Yves Bouju (Nantes), Dr Mathieu Boissard (Saint Herblain), Dr Pierre-Yves DURAND (Saint-Étienne), Dr Christophe Monnin (Lille), Dr Pierre Métais, Dr Arnaud GODENECHE, Dr Geoffroy Nourissat Medacta International Exactech IMASCAP (Now part of Stryker)
