On my way to Leeds. Home of the magnificent Mekons, Gang Of Four, Delta 5, Wedding Present, Pink Peg Slax and many more back in the day (quite a long time back in the day when I think about it). But a different kind of gig today as I have been invited to the Solace Summit where Henry Kippin, Amy Harhoff and I are having a fireside chat (without an actual fire, I suspect) about what kind of leadership makes devolution impactful. In an act of shameful self-promotion, here is something I wrote back in March which TheMJ and Heather Jameson were persuaded to publish, but also to be found lurking on the Leadership Centre website where it’s free to read: https://lnkd.in/d7-sqgpM Indeed, if the dinner last night has left you a little choleric or dyspeptic, then you can stay in your room or find a quiet corner and have a quick read. #sussexandbrightoncombinedcountyauthority Leadership Centre Solace

2dFantastic article. Love ‘play the long game from the off’ (and focus on overall mindset and culture, realising this is a different game to your traditional 11 a side etc). Also glad you omitted more recent Leeds’ landfill indie; but sadly also Sisters of Mercy.
