MAS today announced a new initiative –BLOOM (Borderless, Liquid, Open, Online, Multi-currency), to extend settlement capabilities offered by financial institutions. Through BLOOM, MAS will collaborate with the financial industry to enable settlement in tokenised bank liabilities and well-regulated stablecoins, whilst effectively managing risks in the rapidly evolving digital settlement asset landscape, through standardised approaches. MAS welcomes the initial members of BLOOM who bring their collective expertise and global perspectives to the initiative. MAS also looks forward to partner additional financial institutions, industry partners and fellow regulatory bodies to advance BLOOM’s objectives. MAS welcomes banks, financial institutions, and clearing and settlement network operators to conduct trials under BLOOM. A terrific initiative by MAS leading from the front yet again.
This could accelerate the adoption of digital currencies in trade finance, cross-border payments, and institutional liquidity management—especially across ASEAN and global corridors. Well-articulated move by Singapore to stay at the forefront of digital asset infrastructure. #DigitalFinance #Stablecoins #Tokenization #MAS #FinancialInnovation #Blockchain #BLOOMInitiative
Thanks for bold and forward looking initiative, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
The implications of this implementation is positive! Great move.
Global Layer 1 sounds very much like layer 1 on ETH. How do we mitigate against rugpull risks?
Singapore need people with foresight...not people with fancy useless tittles
Excellent news🙌
Excellent initiative
Great move by MAS, Singapore
Currently seeking roles in IT, Product/Project/Program Management,
2wCurious if MAS will encourage global interoperability via something like SOLOTex/COREUM, or more of a home-grown XRP/LINK type approach. Opening potential markets to cross-border settlements vs. Autonomy and sovereignty in an increasingly multi-polar world. Fascinating topic... would love to be involved! 👍
