Maxar and Ecopia AI launch Vivid Features for dynamic maps

Excited to share that our Vivid™ Features product officially launched today! Here's the problem we set out to solve: Organizations spend thousands of hours creating and manually aligning vector data to satellite imagery because traditional mapping creates "drift"—where building footprints, roads, and boundaries don't align with their actual real-world locations as base imagery updates. This creates massive inefficiencies and limits the ability to update data - either recreate and realign to new imagery, continue to use outdated imagery, or accept that "shift happens". Our solution - and my new favorite term - is location-interoperable data. By combining Maxar Technologies' high-resolution satellite imagery with our automated fusion software and Ecopia AI's mapping system, we're creating vector features that maintain their spatial relationship to real-world locations—no matter how many times the underlying imagery changes. The result: Building footprints, road centerlines, and land cover that stay consistent and interoperable. ODOT's Bridge to the Future: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) & Geographic Information System (GIS) for Scalable Asset Data Analytics Excited to be speaking at #IHEEP2025 to showcase how the Ohio Department of Transportation (@ODOT) is transforming transportation asset management through cutting-edge technology. ODOT is leveraging AI, ML, computer vision, GIS, and reality data to automate and enhance bridge clearance analysis across ~3,000 bridges statewide. By tapping into existing mobile LiDAR and photolog imagery, we're generating accurate vertical clearance measurements. 🎉 RA-L 2025 🎉   Thrilled to announce that our paper, “SHeRLoc: Synchronized Heterogeneous Radar Place Recognition for Cross-Modal Localization,” has been accepted for publication in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and will be presented at IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2026 in Vienna, Austria!   In this work, we introduce SHeRLoc, the first deep learning framework for heterogeneous radar place recognition. SHeRLoc leverages a novel preprocessing approach to convert radar data into synchronized RCS polar BEV representations, alongside hierarchical optimal transport–based multi-scale descriptors. Our FOV-aware data mining and adaptive margin triplet loss enable spatially and viewpoint-consistent metric learning. Extensive evaluations across diverse scenarios show that SHeRLoc delivers SOTA performance in challenging environments such as crowded scenes, snowy conditions, random rotations, and zero-shot settings.
