This almost 7% increase in the London Living Wage will make a huge difference to more than 150,000 hard-working Londoners. I believe you should get paid a fair wage for a fair day’s work and so I’m proud that City Hall is both a London Living Wage and Living Hours employer.
Over 5 million businesses in the UK, 16k of them signed up to living wage... Also what does the term Living Wage imply about Minimum Wage... that you can't live on it?
How easy it to live on £14.80 in London? Very challenging in large part due to housing costs - yet your party is loosening mortgage lending, which will increase house prices and costs! Where is the joined up thinking?
Not for us, going on strike 5th Nov

23hAn increase is good news. Something to celebrate. Credit where it’s due. Having acknowledged this, the question is: What is a living wage in London? How is it calculated? Let’s be honest, fair and kind about this. We should ask London’s top 15% of earners to try this living wage out for a month. I would hope this experience would develop a great deal of empathy. If the 15% were honest, I have little doubt they’d lift the living wage significantly higher.
