Did you know that kids’ online risks don’t always decrease as they get older? In fact, research shows that in some cases, those risks can actually increase during adolescence, especially if kids haven’t had the chance to build a foundation of digital literacy early on. As kids gain independence, they also gain access: to new platforms, peer interactions, and content that can shape how they see themselves and others. Without thoughtful guidance, they may be more exposed to harmful messages about body image, relationships, or identity. In our latest episode, Matthew Johnson from MediaSmarts explains why digital literacy is a process, not a one-time conversation and why ongoing education, co-viewing, and open dialogue are key to helping kids navigate the digital world safely. 🎧 Listen to Episode 60: https://bit.ly/4nWQGfh #KidsMentalHealth #DigitalLiteracy #Podcast
