At its core, AI is a workforce-transforming technology, one that will unleash human productivity by creating a parallel labor pool that can shoulder the burden of much of the work humans would rather not do. AI will become a source of abundance, exerting deflationary pressure across the economy by increasing the supply of labor for caretaking, tutoring, maintenance, and more. AI represents a far bigger opportunity than anything the tech sector has ever faced.

Everyone can see it. AI startups are raising enormous amounts of capital, and faster than anything we’ve seen in the past decade. It’s not because they are always better businesses, more profitable, or even more ready for market. It’s because financial markets follow energy, and right now all the energy is flowing toward AI. The truth is: funding cycles have seasons. In 2010, it was mobile. In 2014, it was cloud. In 2017, it was fintech. Today, it’s AI, and the capital markets have never been this aggressive about one technology wave. Investors everywhere are hunting for AI plays, sometimes before there is even a product. If you are building a startup today and struggling to raise capital while being “non-AI,” you are technically fighting the market mood. You may have a good business, but you’re not positioned where the money is flowing. This is why founders need to start thinking differently: Not “How do I raise money?” But “How do I align my company with where capital wants to go?” You don’t need to become an AI company overnight. But you do need to understand how AI can plug into what you already offer to enhance your product, improve customer outcomes, automate operations, or create new value. The moment investors can see the AI angle, the investment conversation changes. You move from “interesting but low-priority” to “strategic and fundable.” This is the nature of capital markets: timing and positioning matter as much as talent.
