Google Meet has just added an AI makeup filter for the days you join a call without time to get ready. There are twelve preset looks and once you pick one, Meet remembers it for next time. The filter stays locked to your face even as you move or drink coffee so it looks more natural. What I find interesting here is not the feature itself but what it signals. AI is steadily raising the baseline of what looking prepared on camera means. The line between real and AI-assisted presentation keeps moving. The question is whether this is a helpful time saver or another step away from authenticity in professional interactions.
Meanwhile, folks of a certain age have been dialling up the soft focus feature on Teams and Zoom for years now.

1dInteresting indeed Michael McQueen! The real issue around AI, at this point in time I believe is the balance around AI tools Availability / Application / Morality - Are the AI tools available? YES - Can we apply them to just about anything? YES - Morality of doing so? NOT SURE WHO / HOW ???
