Trust is the currency of leadership. Without it, even the best strategies fall flat. So how do leaders build and maintain trust? 👉 Transparency is key. Share not only successes but also challenges. When leaders openly discuss obstacles, they signal authenticity and encourage open dialogue. 👉 Another way to foster trust is through consistency. Be predictable in your actions and decisions. Trust erodes when employees can’t anticipate how a leader will respond to situations. 👉 Finally, don’t forget trust rests on psychology’s Law of Reciprocity, so give “gifts” frequently, such as help, information, advice, and praise. Frequently means every week. Action Tip: Regularly ask your team, “What can I do to earn more of your trust?” This small act shows humility and a willingness to improve. 💡 For more valuable insight, check out my new leadership book Certainty: How Great Bosses Can Change Minds and Drive Innovation https://lnkd.in/eF4cUYKd #mikemears #leadership #selfawareness #authenticity #certainty #trust #management #growthmindset #mindfulness #emotionalintelligence #teamwork #innovation #professionaldevelopment #decisionmaking #leadershiptips #leaders #managers #leadershipbook
