October 10 is World Mental Health Day, dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, promoting well-being, and expanding access to high quality support. Today, one in five Americans experiences a mental health condition, yet most working adults still do not receive the care they need. The COVID-19 pandemic brought mental health challenges into sharper focus, revealing that our health system was not fully prepared to meet the growing demand for support. Addressing mental health needs remains a top priority for employers— 79% cite it as a key concern. According to a Mercer survey last year, 94% of large employers have strengthened mental health coverage or services for their employees since 2020. This resource in the Small Business Health Care Hub offers practical guidance on topics ranging from “Enhancing mental well-being in the workplace” to “Measuring & adapting mental well-being strategies” http://spr.ly/6040Asn4I

Today is World Mental Health Day, so a good excuse to reflect on how we show up for ourselves and for each other at work. One thing I learned from a client project really stuck with me. You can have a thousand mental health benefits and apps, but if the environment is toxic and the demands are relentless, people will still struggle. The latest WTW Wellbeing Diagnostic Survey confirms this. It shows that companies investing in employee wellbeing, especially mental health, see better business outcomes, like lower turnover and higher engagement. But it also highlights a disconnect. Many organizations are investing in areas that don’t fully align with what employees actually need. Mental health support isn’t just about programs. It’s about culture. It’s about how safe people feel to speak up, how leaders respond to stress and burnout, and how we treat each other in the everyday moments. Below, a pic of my today's colleague, who does an amazing work on this.

World Mental Health Day 2025 🧠 A recent survey shows that 77% of professionals now see mental health benefits as essential to job satisfaction — not just an added perk. The message is clear: people no longer separate wellbeing from work. Mental health support, flexibility, and a culture of care are now part of what makes an organisation truly sustainable. On this World Mental Health Day, let’s reflect on what this means inside our workplaces: 🟩 How do we listen to people’s real experiences? 🟩 How do we design work that supports, not strains, mental health? 🟩 How do we make wellbeing part of everyday leadership? At Kalusche Consulting, we believe that building healthy organisations begins with asking these questions — and acting on the answers. Today, on World Mental Health Day, I wanted to pause and have an honest conversation about something that affects every organization — mental health in the workplace. In my video below, I share my reflections on how company culture, leadership behavior, and outdated structures often contribute to mental health challenges. Too often, workplaces become the very source of burnout, anxiety, and disconnection — not because people don’t care, but because systems and expectations were never designed with human wellbeing in mind. One thing I’ve always believed is that the department we call Human Resources should really be called Employee Services. Because people are not “resources” to be managed — they are human beings to be supported, empowered, and served. A culture that truly values mental health starts when we shift from seeing employees as assets, to seeing them as individuals with lives, emotions, and potential. In this video, I explore: - How mental health is affected by workplace culture - What really causes emotional strain in employees - How companies can prevent being the cause of mental distress - And what true leadership support look like Let’s build organizations that heal, not harm. Let’s make mental health not a conversation for one day — but a commitment every day. Watch the video below and share your thoughts — what’s one change your organization can make to better support mental health? Wellbeing isn’t a perk — it’s a foundation. Today is World Mental Health Day, and throughout October’s Mental Health Month, Australians are encouraged to pause, connect, and reflect on how we support our own wellbeing and that of others. At AP Psychology & Consulting Services, we believe mentally healthy workplaces don’t happen by chance, they happen by design. When leaders prioritise psychological health and safety, they create environments where people feel seen, supported, and safe to speak up — workplaces that are not only compliant, but genuinely thriving. 🌿 Simple actions leaders can take this month: • Normalise conversations about stress, workload, and support. • Check in early, not after performance dips. • Design work that protects wellbeing through clarity and realistic demands. • Celebrate positive behaviours that build trust and connection. Small actions, consistently applied, create lasting cultural change. Let’s create psychologically healthy, safe and thriving workplaces — every day. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMonth #Leadership #PsychologicalHealthAndSafety #ThrivingWorkplaces

This World Mental Health Day, let’s break the myths that hold us back at work. Many workplaces still operate under outdated beliefs like “Strong employees don’t need breaks” or “Mental health struggles are a sign of weakness.” These myths not only harm employees’ wellbeing but also reduce productivity, engagement, and retention. 💡 The truth: Regular breaks boost focus and creativity. Seeking mental health support is a strength, not a weakness. Open conversations create psychologically safe workplaces. Preventive care reduces absenteeism and builds resilient teams. Action Tip: Encourage your team to talk openly, take regular breaks, and access mental health resources. Small steps today create stronger, happier, and more productive workplaces tomorrow. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAtWork #WorkplaceWellbeing #EmployeeEngagement #BreakTheStigma #PsychologicallySafeWorkplace #HRXcelerate

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that supporting people at work means more than surface-level wellness checks. 📊 Stress is one of the biggest contributors to mental health challenges: nearly 1 in 4 employees say it impacts performance, and it costs organizations $300 billion+ annually. But here’s the truth: stress is never one-size-fits-all. Every person has unique values, motivations, and stressors. Which means support must be personalized. At R180, we help leaders create workplaces where conversations about stress are non-judgmental, personal, and effective. By uncovering individual values, Tilt Reality, and Value Blockers, managers can provide the right support at the right time. Because mental health at work isn’t just about awareness. It’s about action, alignment, and personalized care. #WorldMentalHealthDay #WorkplaceMentalHealth #PersonalisedSupport #EmployeeWellbeing
