🚤 Autonomous systems are redefining maritime security by detecting threats, clearing mines, and protecting critical infrastructure in real time. 🦾 At #SHINE'25 in Istanbul, NATO demonstrated how uncrewed systems are transforming maritime security. Autonomous ships, drones, and underwater vehicles worked together using advanced navigation and multi-modal sensors to detect and neutralize drifting sea mines, even in GPS-denied waters. The experiment showed how technology can protect crews, enhance precision, and keep vital sea lanes secure. ✨ Led by NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT), SHINE concluded this year’s #InnovationContinuum (SPARK, IGNITE, GLOW, SHINE). Hosted by Istanbul Technical University (İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi) it brought together NATO, industry, and academia to test how emerging technologies move from concept to operational capability and strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence and defence.
