I’ve been closely involved in the founding of Nayanta University (https://lnkd.in/d9VKKNDa), a new university in Pune. Our aspiration is to build a world-class institution out of India, one rooted in strong values and a commitment to excellence. Co-founded by a group of us, including Kris Gopalakrishnan, Nadir Godrej, Banmali Agrawala, Meher Pudumjee, Bharat Puri, Satish Reddy, the Bajaj Family and others, Nayanta will begin classes for its first undergraduate batch this September at our campus in Bavdhan. We are in the final stretch of admissions. If you know a talented student still deciding on an undergraduate college, I’d encourage them to explore Nayanta. Being part of a founding class is a special opportunity- to help shape not just your own education, but the institution itself.
That’s great : so happy to hear about high aspirations : that’s half the journey
I hope you succeed in building a world-class institution, but it demands substantial funding, top-tier faculty, and solid efforts to retain them by providing serious research infra. Not sure if Nayanta University has any (or desires to create such an eco-system), but if it is the ultimate goal, then I would definitely recommend. There is virtually no one in India with means who trusts any Indian institution for their child's higher education. Naushad Forbes, you were entirely trained at Stanford, and most of us left India after completing our BTech from IIT because our parents, victims of socialism, couldn't afford US undergraduate studies for us. Have written extensively on this subject, and it it my life's mission to contribute toward building such an institution. True measure of success: Can we retain our brightest minds? Can we earn the trust of the elite to educate their children here? And, of course, can we produce innovative research that creates value?
This is an amazing initiative as the world needs more liberal art education. I feel proud that it’s right here in my city! Congratulations and best wishes Naushad Forbes
Need to rope in the local talent from reputable universities with wide experience of undergrad teaching as the initial batch will determine the take off
Congratulations!💐 India needs many many more good private institutions, started with purpose and passion, not as exploiting money making machines [all of them by statutory regulations are non-profit organizations].

3moThe founding batch of Nayanta University will be special. Shaping the institution, its culture and practices, and getting personal attention from faculty are opportunities.
