Reelected as MSME President of IIA for 2024-25

Look at the 2023 key fact & figures of Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) to foster truly cross-sectorial research for the long-term sustainability of the European health ecosystem. How? Each of the IHI’s interdisciplinary project teams are composed of diverse experts, including medical researchers, healthcare practitioners, patients, and health industry representatives.

Despite their critical role in India’s economy, MSMEs are underrepresented in discussions shaping the digital ecosystem. A survey of 300 MSME proprietors across India featured in Esya Centre’s report, “A Survey-Based Assessment of the Impact of the Draft Digital Competition Bill, 2024 on MSMEs in India,” revealed: a) 74% of respondents were not invited to participate in consultations on the Bill.  b) 22% of these did not even know about the Committee on Digital Competition Law (CDCL)  c) Among the remaining 26%, no MSME participated individually. Instead, they likely participated under the aegis of two associations with MSME members. The result? The proposed Digital Competition Bill overlooks the complementary relationship between MSMEs and large digital platforms. At today’s #EUHTA Info Day for France and Germany, EFPIA Director General, Nathalie Moll, reaffirmed EFPIA's commitment to making the EU HTA framework a success. With high expectations for the new Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) process, we look forward to streamlined national HTA submissions and to the integration of #JCA reports in national decision-making. For this promise to be realised, it’s essential that developers are involved early - especially in defining submission scope and engaging in early dialogues. Our sector remains committed to meeting the objectives of the #HTARegulation, working to build the necessary trust among all stakeholders who will play a role in the new system. As implementation progresses, we stand ready to contribute our expertise constructively and collaboratively to strengthen and enhance this critical framework. #WeWontRest

Congratulations to the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) activity in Zambia and the Afya Ugavi/GHSC-PSM project in Kenya for their Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards (ASCEA) finalist submissions, the 'Strengthening Health Supply Chain Data in Zambia: Consumption Anomalies Detection (CAD) Tool' and 'Building Self-Reliant Supply Chains through Strong Governance Systems'! 🎗️ Since 2021, GHSC-PSM has been working with the Zambia Ministry of Health to design and use their #innovative tool to track anomalies that threaten the effectiveness of the #health supply chain. This tool decreases the risk of false or subquality drugs reaching the market, and ensures medicines get to the right person, at the right place, at the right time! In Kenya, the Afya Ugavi team has worked alongside the national and county governments since 2019 to establish Health Product and Technology Units (HPTUs) to ensure strong coordination and governance of #SupplyChain activities that are #LocallyLed and #sustainable. Chief of Party John Kamau Ngamau said, “HPTUs at the county level have brought a whole new discussion on management of health commodities, which was previously left to pharmacists. It is incredible how their entry has led to a big difference on supply chain outcomes." We successfully hosted our first calibration session of the year, bringing together over 100 clinical and governance surveyors from 20 countries across all five AACI America regions. Participants hailed from North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and Japan, representing a truly global perspective. The session focused on clinical privileging, a topic often misunderstood as merely a bureaucratic requirement. In reality, clinical privileging is one of the most crucial elements of patient safety, with treatment outcomes frequently hinging on its proper implementation. The session provided a valuable platform for sharing diverse experiences and approaches from various countries, showcasing how different hospitals address this vital standard. This session was thoughtfully organized by our dedicated Dr. Anshu Jhamnani and Nikita Gosavi as part of AACI's continuous education program for surveyors, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their outstanding efforts. Indian Medical Association (IMA) Gujarat Partners with QCI, NABH,NABL to upgrade quality of Healthcare services across the state. We are excited to share that the Quality Council of India(QCI) team visited IMA Gujarat for launching a long-term project aimed at upgrading quality of healthcare services across Gujarat state. This initiative will focus on enrolling and supporting small & medium hospitals in the state to achieve accreditation ensuring excellence in patient care and hospital services. This will ensure quality is taken at grassroot level of the state which is the vision of QCI chairperson Shri Jaxay Shah Always grateful to Dr Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare (NABH) for trusting on such intiatives Involvement of National Accreditation Board For Testing and Calibration Laboratories (#NABL) will also augment services of laboratories across the state.
