At the Nexstar Network Super Meeting 2025, I noticed something that may seem small to some, but felt huge to me: their promotional material included a woman technician. Not long ago at another tradeshow, a vendor looked at me and said: “They let you out of the office, little lady?” At that point in my career, I was spending most of my days in the field with my team and that one comment diminished all of that. That’s why this moment stood out. Because in a male-dominated industry, representation isn’t just nice to have, it’s powerful. Seeing an organization like Nexstar acknowledge that women belong here too matters. It’s not just an image, it’s an invitation.

As a woman in the trades, showing up on the tough jobs is my favorite part. Not just to solve the problem, but to assure customers they’re in good hands. The surprise factor works to our company's advantage when I use it to connect with empathy and deliver with expertise and I thank my experience with Nexstar for the ability to do this.
