From 10 November 2025, a new Education Inspection Framework will come into force. Early years providers will see important updates in how inspections are carried out. The biggest change is the end of the old single-word judgments. Instead, providers will receive a report card using a five-point scale: Urgent Improvement, Needs Attention, Expected Standard, Strong Standard, and Exceptional. Inspections will also be more frequent – happening every four years instead of six. A new Early Years Toolkit will guide what inspectors are looking for and what each level looks like in practice. Inspectors will now look at areas such as safeguarding, inclusion, curriculum, achievement, behaviour and routines, children’s well-being, and leadership. Safeguarding will be judged separately as either “met” or “not met.” For school-based early years, there is also new registration guidance. Some providers will need to check if they must register separately with Ofsted. Now is the time to familiarise yourself with the new framework, review your practice, and share the changes with your team. Preparing early will make the transition smoother for everyone. https://lnkd.in/eazK8_9k #Ofsted #EarlyYears #EducationInspection #Safeguarding #EarlyYearsProviders

“It was so lovely to be part of a wider network of practitioners. The course reignited my passion for the Early Years and reminded me why achieving the highest standards for every child truly matters.” When CPD connects practitioners, it becomes more than training. It becomes a community! Through the now-completed Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP), practitioners gained skills and confidence, but they rediscovered their purpose and felt part of something bigger. 🤝 Networks matter. They offer space to share, reflect, support, and grow together across different settings. And when practitioners feel connected, children benefit. If you’re leading or working in an Early Years setting, think about how you can build or strengthen those professional networks: 🔸 Can staff attend training together and debrief? 🔸 Could you host informal practitioner meetups? 🔸 Are there ways to share practice across settings? Because when we lift each other up, we raise the standard for every child. #EarlyYears #CPD #PractitionerNetworks #FeedbackFriday

📂 EHCP Tip: Keep Everything Documented 💡 When it comes to EHCPs, having your paperwork in order can make all the difference. Keep a dedicated folder (physical or digital) with: ✅ Assessment reports ✅ Emails from school or professionals ✅ Meeting notes ✅ Any relevant observations These records can be vital during reviews or when requesting support. Being organised helps you advocate confidently and ensures nothing important gets overlooked. 🧩 Supporting your child starts with the right tools and documentation is one of them. #ehcp #sendsupport #neurodivergentfamilies

🚨 Important changes for our sector The newly introduced ECEC regulations aren’t just about compliance — they’re about strengthening the safety and quality of every child’s experience. For educators, this is more than a policy shift. It’s a reminder that the everyday choices we make, from documentation, to observation, to the way we respond to children, directly shape how quality and safety are lived in practice. While providers hold responsibility at a service level, it’s the presence, care, and attentiveness of educators that make these changes meaningful for children and families. I see this as an opportunity: ✨ To revisit the why behind our practices ✨ To lean into team collaboration and reflection ✨ To keep child safety and wellbeing at the centre of every decision Change can feel daunting, but it also reinforces what we already know: educators matter.
