This is my clean slate. My perspective. My journey. I just turned 46. A number that only matters if I choose to make it matter. The past year has been raw, brutal at times, and full of lessons I never expected but am grateful for. I’ve been doubted, judged, lied about and pulled into storms I never asked for. People have tried to hurt those closest to me, hoping it would break us, but all it has done is make us stronger than ever. I let the noise get to me and allowed people to clip my wings instead of standing by me and helping me grow. That chapter is done. I’ve rebuilt my circle. There are a couple of incredible people who stand firmly in my corner and truly see me for who I am. I’m blessed to have them. They remind me of my strength, my character and the man I choose to be every day. This year I will break boundaries. Physically and mentally I will push beyond limits, set bold goals and achieve them. It’s me versus me, focused on one percent growth every single day. Same Nik. Same fire. Same desire. But sharper, stronger and wiser. I will not waste energy on those who try to drag me down or shrink myself to make others comfortable. I will keep conquering higher than ever, even on a cold dark night on the side of Everest. 46 is not the age I slow down. It’s the age I level up. It gets greater later.
