Le Sri Lanka occupe une position géographique stratégique au ❤️ de l’océan Indien et dispose d’un fort potentiel en matière d’économie bleue. Toutefois, la prospérité de ce pays de 22M° reste étroitement liée à sa capacité à gérer efficacement ses deux piliers économiques que sont le tourisme et la pêche 🦈. C'est dans ce contexte que le Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique a travaillé en étroite coopération avec l'ambassade de France au Sri Lanka pour organiser une série de rendez-vous et de visites auprès de nos adhérents tout au long de la semaine. Nous avons été ravis d'accueillir B.K. Kolita Kamal Jinadasa Secrétaire au Ministère des Pêches et des Ressources Océaniques, Rajapriya Serasinghe, Contre Amiral et Directeur Général des Gardes Côtes et enfin le le Dr K. Arulananthan, Directeur Général de la NARA - National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency. Les sujets ont porté sur la pêche INN, la diversification des activités aquacoles, la protection du littoral. Beaucoup d'enjeux cruciaux pour lesquels une approche collaborative fait sens tant nous sommes tous concernés le devenir de l'Océan! 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka holds a strategic geographic position at the ❤️ of the Indian Ocean and has strong potential in developing a sustainable blue economy. However, the prosperity of this nation of 22 million people remains closely tied to its ability to effectively manage its two key economic pillars: tourism and fisheries 🦈. In this context, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique worked in close collaboration with the Embassy of France in Colombo to organize a series of meetings and visits with our members throughout the week. We were delighted to welcome: B.K. Kolita Kamal Jinadasa, Secretary at the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Rajapriya Serasinghe, Rear Admiral and Director General of the Coast Guard, and Dr. K. Arulananthan, Director General of NARA – National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency. Discussions focused on IUU fishing, the diversification of aquaculture activities, and coastal protection – all critical challenges that call for a collaborative approach, as we all share responsibility for the future of our Ocean 🌊!
