Never underestimate the importance of one customer. At one point, nearly a third of Founders Arm's revenue came from Cal AI/intros from the founders. But when I had initially made the intro between rayyan khan and Blake W Anderson, I asked Rayyan to give him a massive "close friend" discount - which led to us profiting almost nothing on that contract. That company relationship turned into one of our most valuable accounts -and opened doors to opportunities that money alone couldn't. When you find a customer that really aligns with your product/mission, always spend the extra time on bizdev with them. Those early relationships compound faster than you think.
wild how the “tiny” deals sometimes end up opening the biggest doors. funny how compounding in startups isn’t just capital, it’s trust.
Building strong relationships can often outweigh immediate profits.
