Pilot Photonics’ Post

It's been a busy and exciting 3 days at ECOC, and our 5-strong team was busy with a constant stream of visitors to the booth, enquiries, meetings, presentations and two live demos. Pilot's product specialist, Amol Delmade, gave an excellent, and well-received presentation in the product focus session where he provided insights on our Multi-Wavelength laser sources offerings for scaling capacity in data centres. In addition, two technical papers co-authored by Pilot Photonics engineers were presented: '8 x 225 Gbit/s PAM-8 Transmission Employing DFB Laser Array Source and Quantum-Dot SOA-PIN for Intra DCIs' was presented by Ahmed Galib Reza of Dublin City University, whilst Alireza Shamsafar of SMART Photonics delivered 'High Output Power, 128 GBaud Monolithic InP Integrated Transmitter Fabricated in an Open Access Foundry'. Pilot's lead engineers Amol Delmade and Caolán Ó Murchú (Murphy)án Murphy participated in the well-attended Hackathon. As with last year's Hackathon, the Pilot technology received a lot of attention and questions. Back on the booth, we were showcasing our nano-iTLA, laser array technology and OFGU based upon our integrated comb laser assembly. Our two live demos - the nano-iTLA laser and our Lyra-X 16-channel O-band laser source (in collaboration with Anritsu) - were the subjects of much interest and comment. Once again, our ECOC experience reaffirmed the value of being part of Europe's largest optical communications conference. See you in Malaga in September 2026! #ECOC #comb_laser #photonics #iTLA #OFGU
