💡 At our Rehabilitation Innovation Center, we're helping find new ways to empower people as they age, giving them more control over daily tasks and reducing dependence on caregivers. The Lotus Ring allows users to control lights, fans, and TVs, simply by pointing and clicking. No app, no WiFi, no rewiring required. It's one of the many types of assistive technology found inside our Smart Apartment, a specially designed space used to train students, clinicians, patients and caregivers how to adapt a home for safety and better navigation. Evaluating and providing feedback on products like these is part of our work with AgeTech Collaborative™ from AARP to help promote independence and enhance quality of life. Battery swapping network Battery Smart partners with Lilypad, a digital marketplace for e-2Ws. Lilypad will include battery-less electric 2Ws on its website, which can be integrated into Battery Smart’s swapping network across Delhi NCR. The initiative is set to launch across Noida and Greater Noida from October to December 2025. During the initial 3-month activation, Lilypad aims to sell around 1,000 vehicles powered by Battery Smart’s ecosystem, with a goal of rapid scale-up in 2026. Building the Future, One Project at a Time Over the weekend, my Founders Cohort of the Xonovate Code Champions took on another exciting build — a Smart House. They designed and built it from scratch using cardboard, sensors, and Arduino components. The system detects rainfall and automatically moves a drying line under shelter when it rains, then back under the sun when it stops. They’re also adding automation features like an automatic door and garage powered by ultrasonic sensors and servo motors. It’s still a work in progress, but the structure, garage, and servo-driven door are already up and running beautifully. Watching these young innovators think, build, and experiment with what they have is always inspiring. This is the real spirit of innovation — creativity, curiosity, and courage in action. As we keep shaping the next generation of creators, we’re open to collaboration and support from individuals, schools, and organizations passionate about technology, robotics, and innovation across Ghana and beyond. Four Class 11 students from Shiv Nadar School, Noida, are breaking barriers with technology! 🌟 Aadish Garg, Armaan Sadh, Shivansh Sharda, and Omar Ahmad have created STEPWiSE, an innovative indoor navigation app designed to help visually impaired individuals navigate public spaces like metro stations independently. The app provides turn-by-turn voice guidance, counts steps, and even alerts users before entering hazardous areas like railway tracks or electrical zones. Tested extensively in Delhi Metro and refined with feedback from real users, STEPWiSE brings independence and confidence to visually impaired commuters. What makes it stand out? High accuracy—while GPS gives 5–10 meters precision, STEPWiSE brings it down to just 1 meter! Plus, it’s accessible, user-friendly, and free, with plans to expand nationwide. The young innovators call their project a step towards “turning barriers into pathways,” proving that empathy, innovation, and perseverance can truly change lives. 💡 Their advice to young innovators: “Never give up, even when it feels difficult.
